BEDCO Wifi Project is underway!

12039522_1037632429726627_6897249481142672641_nBEDCO and Meta Mesh recently met with community members at the Nyia Page Community Center to help kick off the Braddock Public WiFi project (funded by a grant from the Google Community Grants Fund of the Tides Foundation). This meeting was a Call for Volunteers and an overview of project goals. We still need Braddock businesses interested in hosting a WiFi node and and individuals interested in learning the technology, installing the network, and maintaining the network over time. Several subsequent training sessions will be held for volunteers. No previous experience needed, just the will to build and the curiosity to learn something new. Email monroe01@gmail(dot)com if you want to be added to the project email list.

Community Cleanup

Braddock residents: there are now public dumpsters available for lot and home cleanup. The first dumpster is on 5th and Holland and the second is on the 200 block of Talbot. These dumpsters will be available until full. If you have items from a lot you take care of or a home renovation to dispose, now is the time to take advantage of free material disposal. Please no electronics or tires.
